Beyond borders: Italy and Switzerland united by design

Andrea Castrignano and Swiss Corner’s collaboration continues after the success of previous editions, including “The Future of Living” and “Pop n’Plates”. In 2026, the project has a new focus on outdoor spaces, further broadening the vision of contemporary living and proposing an experience that transcends the traditional boundaries between indoors and outdoors.
The iconic space in the heart of the Porta Venezia Design District, designed by Swiss Chamber – Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Italy, once again becomes an immersive environment where, under Andrea Castrignano’s artistic and creative direction, functionality and elegance extend to outdoor hospitality.
The leading role goes to Nesos, the ALL-SEASON roofing system by Protezioni, an Italian company manufacturing integrated protection systems for the outdoors, designed to redefine how we live in outdoor spaces. Whether freestanding or wall-mounted, Nesos stands out for its concealed slope, guaranteeing high performance in terms of air and water tightness, load resistance and thermal insulation, all in a simple and highly customisable design.
Here, the roof is not merely a service structure but a true design tool for public spaces, organising the building’s façade, improving micro-climatic conditions and strengthening the relationship between architecture and the urban environment.
In this perspective, the intervention also takes on a symbolic value of cultural bridge between Italy and Switzerland. The ALL SEASON roofing system becomes the expression of a shared vision of contemporary design, based on formal rigour, construction quality, attention to detail and environmental sustainability: values shared by both the Swiss and Milan design cultures.
